Mr. Hinton is in his 10th year with Corsicana ISD. During his time in Corsicana, Mr. Hinton has served as Director of the 6th Grade Band, Director of the CMS Non-Varsity Band, and most recently Director of Bands for CISD. In his time with Corsicana, Mr. Hinton has received numerous Superior and Excellent ratings in Marching, Concert, and Sight-Reading.
Mr. Hinton has a Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Music in Education from the University of North Texas. While at the University of North Texas, Mr. Hinton studied clarinet with Deborah Fabian and performed in the Green Brigade/Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Enrico Williams. Mr. Hinton holds professional affiliations with TMEA, TBA, and CEDFA. Mr. Hinton is also a life-long member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Gamma Theta Chapter).
During his free time, Mr. Hinton enjoys spending time with his partner, Stephanie, and his 4 cats (Clank, Arlo, and Mako), German Shepherd (Vari), and Cockatiel (Rocky). In his free time, Mr. Hinton enjoys playing videos games, Magic the Gathering, and binge watching TV.
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Nathan Williams is a Brass specialist, educator, and conductor. In 2024, Mr. Williams joined Corsicana High School as an assistant band director. He is in his second year of teaching.
Mr. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of North Texas with an emphasis in trombone studies. He trained under both Mr. Grant Futch, and Mr. Tyler Coffman. He also had the honor of working closely with Dr. Tony Baker and Dr. Natalie Mannix. At UNT, Mr. Williams was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, University Band, Green Brigade Marching Band, Trombone Choir, and more. Mr. Williams also performed avidly as a trombone soloist. In 2022, Mr. Williams performed in the Green Brigade Marching Band Showcase at the TMEA All State Marching Band competition in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Williams continues to be an active freelance trombonist, and is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, and the Association of Texas Professional Educators. When Mr. Williams is not at work, he likes to spend time with his family, workout, read, and play video games.
Mr. Belew is in his 8th year with Corsicana ISD, and 14th year in education. During his time in Corsicana, Mr. Belew has served as the percussion director and assisted with every performing ensemble.
Mr. Belew has a Master of Music degree and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern State University. While at NSU, Mr. Belew studied percussion with Ken Green, and performed in the best soundin’ band in the land, the Spirit of Northwestern. He also performed with the Natchitoches/Northwestern Symphony orchestra, various wind ensembles with the college, the Alexandria symphony orchestra, the NSU percussion ensemble, and the NSU Pep band. Mr. Belew holds professional affiliations with TMEA, TBA, the Percussive Arts Society, and is educationally endorsed by Vic Firth/Zildjan. Mr. Belew is also a life-long member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Gamma Rho Chapter).
During his free time, Mr. Belew enjoys spending time playing video games, watching new shows/films, Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and largely enjoys nerd culture. He loves honesty, positivity, cheese, and the arts.
Billy Mere serves as the head band director at Corsicana Middle School. He conducts the Honor Band, assists the Symphonic Band, assists with the high school marching and concert bands, and teaches beginner saxophone and clarinet at Collins Intermediate. In his previous appointments, he was head band director at Brazos ISD and assistant band director at Kountze ISD. Before that, he taught in Arkansas at Lincoln Consolidated, Green Forest Public Schools. He has experience teaching music theory and jazz band as well. He graded the national AP music theory tests in Cincinnati, Ohio for the Board of Education.
Mr. Mere was a student of Mr. Stanley Morris while at the University of Arkansas, where he graduated in 2007. He performed with the University of Arkansas Razorbacks Marching Band, UofA Saxophone Ensemble, Aux Arc Quartet, and the Wind Symphony. He has performed with Fort Smith Symphony, Arkansas Winds, and UofA Theater Department on productions of "West Side Story" and "Closer Than Ever". Mr. Mere speaks fluent Spanish and has a minor in Spanish Literature. Mr. Mere's professional affiliations are with the following organizations: TMEA, ATSSB, TBA, ASBOA, MMEA, MENC, ABA. When he is not with the Corsicana Bands, he loves to swim, read classic books and thrillers, and spend time with his wife Jenna and their 3 cats Azura, Lisbeth, and Bellatrix.
Mr. Smith is entering his 4th year of teaching and his 3rd year with Corsicana ISD. He instructs the Symphonic Band, Beginner Trumpet, Horn, Euphonium, Tuba and After School Jazz Band. He also assist with Honor Band, Beginner Clarinet, Saxophone classes as well as the marching band.
He is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where he obtained his undergraduate studies degree in Music Education. His primary instrument, while attending UNT, was the piano and the trumpet with secondary flute. Mr. Smith was a piano student of Eldred Marshall and Lizhen Wu, trumpet student of Jacquelyn Lankford, and flute student of Won Lee. He was a part of many groups which include: The UNT Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and the 2 'O Clock and 8 'O Clock Steel Bands. While on campus served on the leadership of the Green Brigade Marching Band as a trumpet section leader. Towards the end of Mr. Smith’s Collegiate years, He student-taught at Krum High School and Krum Middle School under the leadership of Brandon Huff, Justin Miller and Carroll Turner.
Along with these organizations Mr. Smith Created a music program through the Oak Gardens Church within the inner-city Dallas area where the primary objective was to bring instrumental music to underprivileged youth. Upon graduation, Mr. Smith was the Assistant Choir Director for Marshall Junior High School in Marshall, Texas, where his duties included teaching the beginner 6th-grade classes, and the non-varsity groups. During the spring semester, he was tasked with being the Head Choir Director, leading all six groups in various competitions scoring superior ratings on stage and excellent scores in the sight-reading portion. Mr. Smith holds professional affiliations with TMEA, TBA, and YBDT. Mr. Smith is also a life-long member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Gamma Theta Chapter).
During his free time, Mr. Smith enjoys playing piano for his church in Dallas, playing video games with friends, watching sports [Ranger, Mavericks, and Cowboys] and enjoys building computers. Mr. Smith is also a composer that writes music for bands, orchestras, and choirs. Some of his published works consist of From Fields to Glory (2020) and David's Last Stand (2023).
Ms. Messersmith is entering her 2nd year working as the Color Guard Director at Corsicana High School. She graduated from Belton High School and has continued her education to Navarro College. She has done 5 years of color guard and is proficient in dance, flag, rifle and, saber. She's also the Weapons Captain at Navarro College. She plans on continuing her education as a Director in dance education, and continuing her Color Guard career by auditioning for Blue Stars and Invictus.
